The best thing I’ve ever read in the New York Times:
John Paul and Alfred Nobel
I’m glad Papa didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Had he won, we would have been subjected to two equally annoying responses.
1) Pro-war Catholics bitching about how the Pope was wrong about Iraq, and,
2) Pro “culture of death” Catholics bitching about how despite his enlightened views about the war, he’s still a horrible man for promoting chastity, life, morality and other Catholic teachings.
Not to mention what kind of excrement the secular press would have produced.
I just didn’t need to be subjected to that.
Besides, Arafat won a Nobel Peace Prize, how legit could it be?
Correction: I didn’t find GodSpy through Zorak, rather through Cacciaguida whom I invariably go to via Zorak. Both are equally deserving of a plug, however, so check ‘em out.

Have a lovely weekend, y’all.
I’ve been away from blogging for the last month, what with the new school year starting and all, but I’m going to try to get back to it. I know both my readers are relieved.
My task today is to plug a new website I found via Zorak.
It is called GodSpy, and it is a Catholic Ezine. It has a sharp look, an orthodox outlook, and thoughtful writing. I’m still digging through it, but I like what I’ve seen so far.
I decided to teach again this year, since my private sector job didn’t come through yet. However, I’ve changed schools and grades, and I’m actually having more fun teaching than I’ve had in years. It’s refreshing to my spirit, though my body is constantly tired from trying to keep up with the energy of these middle-schoolers!
